| What we do | Through its comprehensive “Mommy Journey” curriculum, MITD creates growth-centered environments that foster social, economic, and emotional development. This year, the organization aims to provide a safe space for young mothers to advocate for themselves and implement effective partnerships, continuing to prioritize education and graduation as pathways to greater opportunities. |

| About us | Since its founding in 2017, Mommies in the D (MITD) has supported 455 young mothers aged 14-22 in Wayne County by providing education on prenatal, postnatal, mental health, and financial literacy topics, as well as access to resources for kindergarten readiness. In 2014, Marketia White worked with students at Osborn High School, where she observed some young women shift from dreaming about their futures to feeling scared upon discovering their pregnancies.
