Our mission

To inspire youth to broaden their horizons through positive relationships and healthy connections.
What we do

The Konnection is committed to removing barriers for underserved students in Detroit to improve their academics and attendance rates. The Konnection helps students stay connected and engaged in school through mentoring, tutoring, fun events, and travel opportunities!
How you help

The Konnection has multiple volunteer opportunities available throughout the year!

Programs include:

  • The Konnection Klub (mentoring, tutoring, food service, transportation)
  • The Konnection Kloset (passing out resources, cleaning/organizing)
  • The Konnection Kudos (games, serving food, passing out prizes and awards, etc.)
  • Other (skilled-trade, workshops, specialty projects, supply/resource drives, etc.)
About us

The Konnection is a Detroit-based mentoring program designed to encourage and empower youth to improve school performance and attendance. The Konnection partners with middle and high schools in underserved communities to provide resources including basic needs, enriching after-school programs, mentoring, field trips, career exploration, and travel opportunities. Our goal is to keep students excited about learning and engaged in school.
