Our mission	The Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program provides assistance to our older and disabled neighbors who need a little extra help.

Opportunities	Volunteer Driver You can make a difference in someone’s life by providing rides to medical appointments, shopping and other essential errands. Use your own vehicle, in your spare time. You pick the days and hours that are convenient for you and the areas in which you are willing to travel. There is no hands-on care required, just accompany someone to the store or to an appointment. This will enable many older, frail or disabled adults to get the medical attention, groceries and other support they need. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor None Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Group Projects Get your friends or club together to clean a yard or paint a house. One-time, Occasional Teens, 55+, Adults, Child with Adult Groups (2-10), Groups (10+), Corporate Teams Indoor, Outdoor None, On-site Weekdays, Weekends Housekeeping Volunteer For many older and disabled adults who are struggling to remain in their own homes, simple tasks that we take for granted like dusting and vacuuming can become next to impossible. Not only can a cluttered or dirty house be uncomfortable, but it can become a real health and safety hazard. The Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers program provides supportive services such as these to neighbors in our community who cannot afford to pay for professional help and do not have family available to assist them. If you have a couple hours once or twice a month to provide some light housekeeping for a struggling neighbor, you can make a real difference in someone’s life — and gain immeasurable rewards in the process! Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor None Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Phone Reassurance Join our team of weekly callers who check in on few isolated people once a week to let them know someone cares. Weekly Adults Individuals Virtual, Indoor None, On-site Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Office Help Assist with office work such as helping with phone calls, working on the computer, and stuffing envelopes. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Office work, Indoor On-site Weekdays Repair or Chore Volunteer Many older and disabled adults in our community find themselves faced with a variety of basic chores, yard work & minor repairs. For those who are frail or handicapped, have no family nearby, and are living on very low incomes, these tasks — which most of us handle routinely — are overwhelming and impossible to manage. If you can rake leaves, put up storm windows, fix a leaky faucet or help with any other routine chores or minor home repairs, we need to hear from you. Even if you have just a few hours to spare once or twice a year, you can help a desperate neighbor remain in their own home a little longer. Work is arranged entirely around your schedule and near your home or office. One-time, Occasional, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor, Outdoor Skilled Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Respite Volunteer Many people in our community care for a loved one 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sometimes they need a little break. As a Respite Volunteer you can provide these family caregivers a chance to run important errands, get to their own medical appointments, or simply take a walk and relax for a short time. With your help these older and disabled adults can remain in their family home for as long as possible. Your gift of time can be a big relief to the caregiver, allowing them to take care of some basic needs of their own, knowing their loved one is safe and in good hands at home. Occasional, Weekly, Monthly 55+, Adults Individuals Indoor None Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends Volunteer Visitor Many of our older and disabled neighbors are quite isolated with no family or friends nearby. A special friend who can drop by every week or two to chat, read mail, go out for coffee, or just let them know that someone cares, becomes a wonderful gift in their lives. If you have just a few hours each month that you can give to someone who has no one, you can make a real difference in the life of a frail or homebound neighbor. Your special gift of time may turn into a very special and rewarding gift for you as well. How you help	All services are offered without charge, although donations are greatly appreciated and help us reach out to more people in need.

About us	Many frail and physically challenged adults in our community struggle daily to maintain their independence — our helping hands often make it possible for them to remain in their own homes. The Interfaith Volunteer Care program will try to find a helping hand for anyone regardless of religious preference. All older and disabled adults who need assistance to remain at home are elegible for help, however priority is given to those with the greatest need.
