Our mission

Every day we work toward our mission to inspire and grow women in technology. A diverse IT workforce is a vital part of Michigan’s transformation and we strive to engage and retain female professionals here.
Opportunities

Girls Rock IT

MCWT Foundation’s Girls Rock IT program helps Girl Scouts throughout Michigan earn three Coding for Good technology badges. Volunteers are needed to facilitate or support “Coding for Good” badge sessions. Facilitators will take girl scouts through pre-developed Coding for Good badge curriculum to help them earn badges. Knowledge of Scratch, Vidcode or other programming language is helpful but not required. Downloading ZOOM meetings to a pc, webcam, and microphone are required.

Marketing & Communications

Assist with marketing and communications. Marketing Managers, Project-Oriented, for MCWT Foundation Projects, monthly commitment of 3 to 10 Hours. Communications Project Managers for Major Events, monthly commitment of 3 to 10 Hours. Press Release Writing / Review – Press “Pitching” to Gain Media Attention, monthly commitment of 3 to 10 Hours. Marketing Specialists in Community Outreach and Liaisons to Partnership or Membership Teams, monthly commitment of 3 to 10 Hours. Web Content Curator, monthly commitment of 5 to 7 Hours.

Internship Team Member: System Admin

A volunteer to support the MCWT Internship Program by configuring and managing the application system. Using SurveyMonkey Apply to create the workflow and processes to create a pull-system internship program. For students, define and program SMApply with the requirements for a prospective intern to upload their resume and answer a few questions. For employers, define and program SMApply with the requirements for an MCWT partner to access potential students looking for internships. Logic and workflow experience, systems thinking mindset, process-oriented. SurveyMonkey Apply experience is helpful but not required.

Internship Team Member: Job Postings

We are looking for a volunteer to support the internship team and manage job postings. The volunteer would spend a minimum of 2 hours a week scanning the internet for open internships in Michigan and post them to the private LinkedIn Group to support the MCWT Internship Program.
